I am among the people who are pleased to see such a new watch from Patek's 2015 novelties.
I don't know (and my bet is that I don't think so) if this reference is made to remain available on the long run but it is a nice move to me.
I'll have to confirm my feelings in the metal but I like its style (and the fact it is not too big, like other Pilot watches),its beautiful dial from the pictures I could see even though I thought they could use Steel or Titanium instead of WG. But I guess WG gives a little "luxury" touch to the watch the other material don't.
Titanium would have been very different from Patek's current material and would have made a very sought after model.
Personally, I like those hands, especially as it looks like the 198.493's "Montre de bord" from 1935.
