Hi.... In a previous thread, Andrew asked me what watch I would wear in extreme conditions.... Extreme conditions of -20 C but fun at the same time... There could be several options, but I thought that I could combine a great family vacation with a watch ...

great pictures!!! I agree with your wearing logic. the Nautilus line isn't super fragile like a glass vase, so wear it during physical activities. just be careful!!!

... a mechanical watch beats cold temperature exposure much, much better than a quartz even! Warm, very warm is not the best for a watch. Nice watch! Regards Moritz

Great pics and great post. I love seeing a watch used like it should be! I have been lusting after the 5960 as my first AP but I do not think it could handle the sports the Nautilus can.

A real joy to wear.... True, the Nautilus is sportier, but the 5960 is also a real joy.... Two different watches, both excellent... Cheers

I would expect a Nautilus to pass the test with flying colors, besides, if it can't stand being on your covered wrist, I'd be more worried about your wrist! Excellent choice watch for ski, I'm sure all the pumping of the arms put the watch and the winding...

buy... I chose the black face as I think that it has a sportier presence... The date blends better with the dial, having a black background... But both are beautiful... Thanks Cheers

And I apologize, because I am showing an inappropriate bias. The Nautilus in it's price range is a luxury sports watch to me, and one that I would expect to be wearing strutting the beach at St Tropez. It's like wearing a Pt Journe to the supermarket. Fun...

It's fun to wear the YG La Tradition or Pt Journe to do the shopping because it feels somewhat naughty and out of place. My little indulgence when I really should just have a cheap steel watch on. Silly, but there it is. A

I spent my Saturday in a similar way.... Substitute Manhattan for Martini, Kempinski for Carlyle and black dial for blue.... But the Carlyle brings me fond memories... I hope that the new owners have retained the personal service that it was known for... ...
