We feel the same. That's how I understand the difference between markets and I imagine that the evolution of Patek Philippe takes into account a new world from the 1980's/1990's (and before).
Now, is it good, or is it bad? The limit being we should not have too much in order not to modify to significantly the image of a brand. But change will bother always, especially in a conservative field like watchmaking.
I think they could have easily chosen to make a quite standard version: many have been proposed by our friends here as a 5711 in WG or even without date etc. So I think they did it on purpose but just a guess of course.
There are many other nice watches to fulfill every tastes and our pleasure in the brand!
Thanks E.
Cheers, Mark
