is deliberatly limited in order the line-up doesn't repesent a significant part of sales. It would indeed unbalance the brand's image compared to classical cases.

I think the 5711P looks stunning. Some of the posts are bordering on hysterical - if you don\'t like it fair enough but you don\'t need to suggest anyone who does is somehow a second class watch enthusiast.

The metallic blue dial is gorgeous and I'm sure it will look stunning in the metal. And I'm sure the finish of the case & bracelets will be sublime. In fact, I would truthfully love to know if there are ~2000 men/women who have the means to buy these piec... 

In fact it is what I said to my AD: I like to wear my watches and would only countenance one of these to lock it away, double sealed etc. The point is that purchases such as this are, for some/many, emotional rather than anything else. Emotion brings pass... 

Emotion is great and clearly these pieces have divided. I\'ve never purchased a watch with diamonds but I\'m happy to give it a try if I get the chance.

A little bit ostentatious for daily wear but the proportion and the blue dial is perfect for me. If only they had it done in stainless steel for daily wear instead of white gold, this would have been the perfect watch for me. I have sen shots from the GQ ...

They gave you the very nice "vibrant Blue" dials, which most of us like on the previous 5711P, and the 5960 two tone. They gave you the nice Cork boxes that are hard to find nowadays. They gave you the nice Chronograph that most watch purist like, and Tme...

I strongly dislike the dial printing. The 40 Anniversary dial printing is not attractive at all and ruins the watch! I do like the diamond hour markers. The ideal special watch celebrating this 40th anniversary is to have a watch with just the diamond hou... 

Indeed the 40 marking is not the best move. The feedback I have from Patek and from my past experience is that it is less visible in the metal as the dial is dark blue and it is much smaller than these pictures tend to show. A Baguettes-only version would...

I like the color of the dial, but that is about it. Nautilus was never the understated that appealed to many Patek buyers, but it does have a cult status with others. But these watches look so much like the Seiko blue dial ones of the 1970's.

I think \'we\' the community partly created the expectations ourselves. 40th is not a grand milestone really (as traditionally opposed to say 10, 25, 50 etc.) and to my knowledge the general message from PP was not to expect anything truly groundbreaking ... 

Patek didn't really want to commemorate the 40th anniversary at first. However, with the growing expectations from the clients, they felt they had to do something. Thus, the fact (I think) that they decided to do "something else". About your first sentenc... 

Not all Asians love "bling" in jewelry and accessories to begin with...just as not all from the West love the "bling" culture perpetuated by some rap, sports and media culture. Some people do, some people don\'t.

and many many thanks to Patek to have done such a 5711P. Now I am sure that my standard 5711p will increase its value. By the way, 700 limited edition... I prefer the original 5711p with less than 100

I suspect in the future there will be a new line of oversized nautiluses aimed to compete with the hugely successful ROO. I\'m not a ROO fan, but I predict when an oversized nautilus comes in steel it will fly off the shelf.

even though I think that there should maybe be a limit. It is not necessarily because there is a market for one thing that the brand should provide it. Maybe 42 is the limit I would pic for Patek. Going further is taking a risk with the brand's image. Lim... 

I would venture to guess the ROO drives most of AP\'s revenue and Patek is missing a huge market share. This is business, not art anymore, after all.

the idea of mentioning 1976-40-2016 on the dial is out of the place IMHO and cheapens the watch. Looks like an ad to me I would have preferred that touch/detail on the case back instead. Nevertheless the blue color they used is out of this world! Laurent

Was expecting a lot more from PP. They came out with a dial embossing which really takes away the beauty & simplicity of the dial. This could have been done on the rotor of the watch . My liking is towards the 5711/1p but they should have created somethin...
