Patek Philippe

I am the same!

I have felt like this for the past couple of years and as a result I have not bought or considered buying a new Patek (and its not only PP) for a while now, with the exception of my wifes birthday present.

It is indeed insane that a 5159 can buy a really nice sports car, a perpetual chrono can buy a super car.....  heck a simple time only is the price of a 1 carat+ flawless diamond.....  I like watches and as I grow older with a young family, priorities change.  5 years ago, earning less money than now, even with a young baby in the family, i cna buy PP/VC or whatever without too much thought.  Now earning more money keeping up with watch inflation, it still seems the absolute amount the company charges for a watch appears to me to be not with reality.  It is possible that my collecting style is now different but the pieces that I feel are worth adding to my collection are complications and unusual pieces.

Maybe my analysis of the world is wrong.  There is no recession, everything really is getting better, there is no need for the world to save for a rainy day...... the bull market is back!

I am a mechanical watch lover.  So I also love to collect pocket watches.  It gives me similar joy, although I can rarely show my enjoyment on these with others because they dont leave the house.  I can admire this brand from afar, without adding new pieces.

Happy Watching
