I know that feeling very well, as I'm a bit too picky with the fit of metal bracelets
I have the 1.5 link for my Nautilus, but I still have some issues. My wrist changes a lot depending on temperature and humidity, which causes me problems with bracelets. I used to "play" quite often with the links and 1.5 links myself, but it caused big issues with the screws. Unfortunately, the screws are not meant to be "used" frequently. So now I can only wear my Nautilus in summertime. A micro-adjustment system would be more than welcome, but Patek doesn't seem to be looking into it.

It was very interesting to hear two watchmakers tell me the same thing about the brand. Great brand. Great product. But you only need one and it doesn’t matter which one. Just pick one you like. That’s what they said to me.

It was tricky, because the buyer and seller are different. Took some careful planning to make sure the transactions happened when they should have happened.
Consolidation is the way to go!
It takes a lot of courage but the end result is always satisfying!!

I feel like it’s a cycle. We all go through a consolidation phase and then an expansion phase. Then we start over again. Hahahaha.

It is much more better to have two or three outstanding pieces than a lot of second-best watches. Congratulations for being so consequent!

It’s a mind vs heart discussion. In the end, I think both my mind and heart wanted to do this. The 5270P does the same, if not more, to my emotions as the Nautilus.

I got to see one of these in person a few weeks back.. Clearly on my list of wants. Have considered some trade ins towards the purchase as well but have yet to be able to part with some of those pieces.. So will either save a bit more.. and lust ... or do...
5960 is so awesome.
So unloved, at the same time... I love the way it looks. I love the way it wears. That’s why it’s the only other PP I keep along with 5270P.

On the left aperture, it’s a day/night indicator. It notifies us of the danger zone, ie. when to or not to adjust the calendar.

I also feel that as time goes on, we “mature” as collectors and develop different strategies or themes in our collections. At the end of the day, it’s a hobby and it should make one happy and not stressful!
I guess your commitment (to consolidate) has been well rewarded.
There are many here envious I’m sure of your being able to make this move, to sell, consolidate. I’ve taken baby steps myself, but keep getting distracted along the way. Plus, it’s a slow process.

Great choice! I’m all for a two or three watches collections. Although I haven’t started building my PP collection, I would think 5960A will be in it (better the black but white will do too) and the 5270 salmon dial is growing on me too!
But maybe I will add a nautilus (5711R or 5712A) if possible.

I would be extremely hesitant to get rid of my 5980, but this was a worthy sacrifice. I absolutely love the Salmon dial.

You seem to like complications, so I think you might get bored with the no date Sub. Sky Dweller is Rolex’ most complicated watch and is an excellent
watch. If you like the size that might be the one. If not, Batman is excellent. Version 2 has a 70 hour power reserve, but you have to like the Jubilee bracelet. I prefer version -1 on the Oyster. Also I like that it is discontinued and is the only steel ...

IMHO, I think you made the perfect choice! This is definitely the 2 I would have over the original 4 pieces. Congrats!!!
I’ve done a similar thing
and consolidated down to 2 pieces, and one of them is also a 5960 (but the original P-001) and the other is my old faithful Rolex Exp II 16570 with Polar dial. So at least I followed some of the advice!

I owned a Aquanaut a long time ago...
I parted with it after it stopped running for me twice. I sent the watch back to the spa... After the second time, I sold it. It was a nice watch, but it didn’t scream quality like the 5960 IMHO. Do I miss it? A bit, because I’d love to have a water resis...
