I see we have very similar interests!!!
I think the 5712's thinness is one of its best characteristics - personally I prefer the thinner microrotor 240 movement over the 315 - and what it may lack in heft the 5712 wins in complexity, details, and refinement. Like you I saw the 5712 in the window (albeit 4 years ago) and jumped on it quickly.
I've gradually shifted the mix of my collection to Patek - and whilst I still am enamored with my last remaining AP (one that I don't plan to ever get rid of) and am dabbling with independents now - the mix will continue to grow with a Patek first collection.
