I think the choice comes down to size at the end of the day — it did for me. The 5960 just wore really small my wrist, too small. the 5095 in 42mm really wears like a 40mm and side by side with my 41mm Royal Oak, the 5095 appears smaller than the RO

I did not try it yet as 42mm sounds big for me. But you are of course right - the numbers often don't tell the real story on how something really wears and feels.
