Patek Philippe

I want to like (love) this model but just can't...because of the fonts!

On the surface, it seems to have all the elements I find appealing.  But the one thing that bothers me is the font that they use for the subdial.

To me, the 5905 is a modern chronograph, the overall dial layout, the use of the modern subdial to keep the running minutes, etc first seen on the 5960, the updated square pushers,...all say "modern" to me.  Along those lines:  the font used for the calendar indicators as well as the PP name are in a sans serif font (even "Swiss Made" is sans serif).

Why then, do they choose to use a serif font for the numerals on the subdial?  I mean, crowns on the "1" and "4"...an open "6"?  It just stands out to me as something is not right.

Look at Foversta's pic of the 5905 dial compared to the 5960....why change the font on the subdial when (to me) it seems so much cleaner in the original form?

(Credit to Foversta - hope no issue using your pics here...)

I am not a designer but I know what I like...and the font just bothers me.  (I'll add that the font on the 5131's also bothers me, although I love the watch...reminds me of a bad MS word font)...
