Hi,
IMO it is not worth having it restored at Patek Philippe as it is too costly compared to the value of this particular watch...
Let me explain:
These very small rectangular watches from the 40ies are not valued on the recent market and specially this shape.
Now these kind of watches are a little bit out of fashion and this is reflected in the low prices paid for them.
Would be a different situation with a "Banana", "Pagoda" or an "Hourglass" - then it would make sense to spend $2000 or even more...
I would have the watch cleaned and lubricated, give the case a light cosmetic treatment - only smooth hand detailing - NO BUFFING WHEEL!!!!
and keep it!
When tastes and fashion will change some day in the future it may be good to have it in the drawer
Just my 2 cents
Erich
Is it a thorny rose or junk?
