It is an attractive watch, the smaller size at least as the other one overpowers most wrists.

I don’t find it horrendous - and feel many jumped on the anti-Thierry Stern
bandwagon, but there are so many others in the Patek catalog that would be ahead of this. I do feel that they did miss an opportunity to actually create something very new and distinctive.
To be fair, the hate was based on 1) the Nautilus was supposed to end and 2) this is basically a Nautilus.
I’m a bystander here, my interest in PP pretty much is zero save for one or two watches.
I don’t see cubitus as a grail at this point. But things change.
No one liked nautilus when it came out. Having see both, I actually prefer the original larger version. But this one looks great on your wrist.
Well, the Nautilus was nobody’s grail not that long ago.
That does not mean it was not (is not) an attractive watch, an iconic design. It must definitely is. However the Cubitus will never have the story the Nautilus has. That is a major difference. Stories (or hi-stories) sell many watches.

… maybe it is worthwile considering the cubitus in 20-25 years - should it still be on sale then. However, this new lineage could also share the destiny of the „Sculpture“ watches Patek did in the 90s, ie getting back into the drawer… Forever.
To a newer generation of buyers this "transition" from the Nautilus will probably be irrelevant. They'll like it on it's own terms or not.
To the previous owners of Naultilus, this may or may not grow on you. Personally although I don't really care about Patek, I found the Nautilus was getting dated looking.
Had a chance to try on the 40mm version at the Geneva Salon a couple of weeks ago.
It fit me a LOT better than the huge 45mm version ("What were they thinking?").....I liked the watch but not enough to buy it, even if it was offered to me.
Hopefully Patek Philippe releases their new modern Connoisseur Series of fine mechanical timepieces soon.

I haven’t tried this 40mm but I did the others and in my case is that “indifferent” reference.
I don’t like it, nor dislike it. But definitely, not buying I think, it’s too toned down… P.S. Looks okay on you!

Time will tell whether this line will become iconic and sought after for whatever reasons. Based on my conversations with the various ADs locally and overseas, the wait lists are not short of people,

But I do think right now it’s impossible to separate true demand for this watch from the continued hype around these watches more broadly. This is of course true for many watches from many brands, but with new watches like this one we have no real baselin...

I saw both 45mm and 40mm. I would not compare it to the Nautilus… different vibes. I like it. The size is ok, despite trend is for larger watch. Size depends on the occasion and collection. For me the, the 40 mil works… Strange… the patek website classify...
