It is significant to mark an occasion.
Not horological significant, in that sense.
But this Aquanaut is not "any other" aquanaut.
It's commemorative to mark the Watch Art Grand Exhibition in Singapore (2019, I think), limited to 500 pieces.
I remember seeing it in the Patek Exhibition and it had some people going goo gah gah..
A bit debatable here I admit, as Patek might have used red (as Colours of the Singapore flag).
The red here does call out viewer's attention. (Not discussing the strap here as one can fix on another colour/type strap), But what's on the dial, the red will set it apart.
That's my proposition. That Patek does not use red without careful consideration, as it seems to me.
