Patek Philippe

It tells me all I need to know …. But does it tell me all I want to know?

At the beginning of  my horological journey decades ago I quickly realized I wanted to own a Patek. I was only interested in vintage. Mainly for financial reasons but also because they appealed greatly to me, I focused on time only watches. These watches told  me all I needed to know. My criteria was they had to be rare, beautiful and in mint condition, eg the new old stock 570G from the 1960s and the super mint and rare 37 mm 1950s 2481 with exotic dial.

As years passed I realized while they did tell me what I needed to know they did not tell me all I wanted to know. While I certainly did not like complications in my life, I started to seek  complications in my Pateks. This started in the mid 1990s when Patek introduced the 5035 AC, a true game changer.

So I moved away from these beautiful vintage time only watches (a few are shown) and pursued complications of different levels.

While complicated Pateks  are and I expect will remain my principal passion, I find that I miss the vintage time only Pateks. I think now may be the time to spread my wings by also going back to my roots and adding some time only rarities.

Hope you enjoy the images.

Best, Patekova
