If you wish to go for the 5960/1A because you know you can adjust a strap, I just wanted to underline the fact that you will have to work the customed strap in order it hides this groove between the lugs (Jester posted pictures in the past).
As people come on PuristSpro to get such advice, I thought that's something people should be aware of.
But not a problem if you get the right strap shape as Dr.Kol did with his.
About the 5960P and R, I absolutely love them. This is simply one of my top-5 favorite references of the last 20 years.
A great movement, the AC and chronograph complications (with hours and minutes counters), the practical power reserve (I love PR indicators), the price, the beauty and style (even if this last point remains subjective) and how everything works together (classical and casual), the finishing of the dial elements (hands, date's frame, markers).... I love it (especially the 5960P grey dial) and this is the kind of Patek I must get somewhere on the road.
I must make a review of this watch one day.
As for the 5960/1A version, it is a quite a totally different offer from the P and R versions but with all the same assets. The style only differs, thus how you want to wear this watch (and with which outfit).
For the bracelet, this is not my personal style and doesn't fit the area I live in, but many love it, depending on the region of the world, culture etc.... If you were something like this well, it can look great. I must say though that, when I tried it, it was tremendously comfortable and a pleasant feeling on the wrist.
So strap is a great alternative to consider for sure. As a reminder for people who would ask, this is not provided by Patek and is not "recognized" by Patek.
Are you considering one Ahmed?
Cheers, Mark
