Patek Philippe

its very simple

Your Patek should not have any type of oxidation after a few years. Almost all my watches are gold 3 of them being PP that I wear every day and none of them have any type of tarnish. I agree that gold can oxidize over time but unless you exposed it to harsh environments it should not happen over a 2 year period. The main point is that your case should be almost air tight allowing no moisture or air to penetrate. The oxidation process in my opinion should take much longer unless you left the crown open. This watch does have a 25meter water resistence which means it can safely takes splashes when washing hands and further makes the point that there should be no air or moisture penetrating the movement if housed correctly. The watchmaker needs to take into consideration the casing of the watch to see if the same process has begun on the outside if the environment is to blame.
