Patek Philippe

The one from my friend Khalid is a dream. Very nice and VERY unique. As a huge 5070 fan I would give you a kidney for that watch made for the london saatchi expo but...... there is another one, also white gold and also a salmon dial but it has a few extra...  

I prefer the leaf shaped hands, but the dial is even nicer, according to my taste, than the " out of range " salmon one limited to 5 pieces. Except the luminous dots, which are too much, IMO. As for this article, I have no problem with it, since you are M...

If something is already very sought after, some clients just want a little extra thing like said, there are a few unique 5970 out there do you remember all thoses ultra high end grande complications from some time ago , a celestial, a skymoon a repeater..... 

- Re editing pieces which were discontinued some 6 years ago is strange. - Pricing them twice the price of the current equivalent in the production is not a good message ( for the current production which is presented as a technical improvement ). - Makin... 

But let's look at the issue from another angle: I guess that we all agree that these pieces do not lower the "value" of the old 5070. Do the people who got one of these Special Edition 5070 complain? If not, what's the problem??? It is naive to cry about ... 

Dear Nicolas, We already had this disccusion in the other post (and before) and, don't take it wrong, but I really find your interventions are partial. Everybody is free to express opinions of course but in each post you try to find the most negative thin... 

It is not a problem of brand, but of behaviour, and yes, you have a point, Patek is not the only one to play this tricky game. Still, it is a tricky game. And a bit risky, too... Best, Nicolas

But this "tricky game" is something that makes a couple of loyal clients very happy. Furthermore, it creates discussion around the Brand and that must be partly intentional (also very clever) from the Brand's side. I am still willing to buy all four 5070 ... 

Why don't you just buy them? I don't think you can ask patek to make you an extra set but if you say you're willing to pay a premium...... You can find them on the secondhand market

Because I am a bit nuts! If possible, I like to get my watches new and at least complete with "open" Certificate of Origin. And if I find such, I send the watch for Patek's service for a full overhaul. But let's put it this way: I will surely have one wat... 

... You are right, its good to have some animated debate, but always while trying to be fair and not mix everything, to paint a different picture than things really are. A special order for a special collector is totally different than the london 5 pcs ed... 

You are not mentioning the strangest part in all that : They don\'t seem to learn from the mistakes of others! JLC is a perfect example of a cie that made zillion variations of its gyrotourbillon, even in 5 and 10 pieces with just color differences, blue,... 

I know about it since a while, its a special order to a very special client. So basically a unique piece. There is the same version in another metal. There is unique 5004 and 5970. We are not in pandora box territory. These were not offered to public for ... 

The specific hands are very surprising and change the watch's look very much. I think I'll need time but currently I'm much more attracted by the 5070G Salmon from London. Thanks for reminding us of this very unique piece Bruno. Cheers, Mark

The london edition of 5070P has a different blue dial, deeper blue

I have a bad one I had an opportunity to take. The dial is indeed darker and the sun rays are somewhat stronger. Best, Kari

It is just outstanding.

But on these pics I see no difference compared to the other 5070p Depending on the light the 5070p Goes from dark to light blue

... they have a trick to make each blue dial unique. 5270G 5070P 5960P have all different tonalities of blue. 5070P london has apparently a blue never seen before. 5070P have sometimes tones of aubergine color, that i didn't find in other blue dials. 5270... 

I wonder how is the texture.

The Feuilles Hands are my favourite, by far. However the dots instead of the gorgeous Breguet numbers are better suited for this chronograph. Looking forward to my new kidney Cheers Francois
