Patek Philippe

Looking for some advice about ref.96

Been in love of the legendary 96 for quite a while as well as hunting one for myself.

Tried chrono24 and some Japan dealer websites.
The problem with chrono24 is that I am not sure of the originality of the watches being posted there.
Plus I am a completely newbie to the vintage patek world.

If I am looking for a common 96, in YG, black/silver dial with original hands, dial not refinished, case polished(I would say most of the common 96s in the market had their cases polished so...) but within a resonable times.(At least with clear hallmarks) What kind of price range am I looking at?
Additional info, I am located at upper U.S east coast. I know buying such a popular vintage watch off a website or any website would probably be the last thing many people want to do, but the second market dealers around here... urh... many of them are either heavily overpriced or not in original condition.
Are there any dealers to be recommended?
Also to the 96 owners, please feel free to post and share your experience of how/where you bought the watch,(probably share the price if you will) it is always nice to hear from someone with experience, that will help a lot.
I appreciate all of who read/response to this post, and last but certainly not least, for your good weekend, I would like to take the liberty to share a gorgeous photo of steel 96 from Johnbehalf, a big time Japanese collector.

Enjoy your weekend,
Cheers!
Vin
