Need help to find movement number
Hello fellow Patek friends,
I hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving this year, despite the bad economy hitting almost all of us.
I have a question which i hope any of you Patek pros and purists can help me on.
As you know, i recently purchased my 1st Patek, which is the 5098P.
Now on the certificate of origin, there seems to be 2 sets of numbers in the movement(mouvement) section, separated by a /(slash) . Now, based on my experiences with other brands such as Lange, i was assuming that one is the case number, while the other is the movement number, but in Patek's case, i seem to be able to locate only the 1st set of number, which is engraved on the bridge near the 2nd wheel. If this is the movement number, then what is the other set of number? And where would it be located? And for the reference number, it says 5098P-001, what does the 001 stands for?
Secondly, on the certificate again, at the calibre section , it writes "25-21 REC AIG.2". I know that 25-21 is the movement calibre, with REC representing Rectangle, but what does "AIG.2" represent/mean?
Lastly, for the dial, the certificate says "GUIL. RHODIUM ARABE P NOIR". I assume the 1st refers to the guilloche on the dial, the Rhodium part refers to the dial being rhodium plated (what is the material of the dial by the way? Gold? Silver?), the Arabe refers to the Arabic numberals, the Noir refers to the black numbers , but what does the P refer to or stand for?
I appreciate any help on any of the above, please especially if you are already a 5098P owner, could you be so kind as to help a Patek beginner to his questions?
