Patek Philippe

I furtively saw this reference in the real before, but during our last London GTG, one of our friends had the good idea to bring it with him. What can I say? I stayed speechless... My favourite PC Chrono from PP, by far. Compared to the WG version, I find...

This one is also undoubtedly my favorite PC-Chrono Patek Philippe... You're right about the busy but balanced dial... And to add, the black dial gives a nice contrast.. Makes it better looking compared to the WG version... Now you're in big trouble, my fr...

It always cracks me up when ever I see a watch with a moon phase that is not set correctly. Over the years of veiwing these pictures it is very common for this to occur; I would say maybe 75% of the time. Is it really that difficult to set the moon; they ...

I've just checked and assuming the pic was taken this year the full moon in May is the 17th so this watch on the 8th should be approaching the full moon while in the pic it has just passed a full moon. Never noticed this in pics before. However what an ab... 

Even if, on PC, the moonphase has to be synchronized with the perpetual calendar... Can you imagine when it is not linked with a perpetual calendar? Each time the watch is not wound, you have to check what is the exact moonphase, which is a bit fastidious... 

I don't know how one would set a PC and whether you could just advance the moonphase without all the other parts coming into play. For Xmas my mum got me a moonphase calendar which is great and makes setting my reverso so much easier...but I have to admit... 

And you need to send the watch to the Manufacture to set it properly... Best, Andy. Nicolas.

while the pusher for the moonphase is independent. you can just keep pushing it and the moonphase disc will turn from full moon to none, over and over. I would add that unless the moon is full or zero at the time of setting, it becomes a guess where you s... 

And yes, you're right, setting in an absolute accurate way the moonphase is a bit approximative, except if you do it when the moon is totally full or empty, as you said. Agred on the fact that it is not a real big deal. Best, and thanks. Nicolas.

It is spectacular, modern, and classic all at the same time. I'm afraid it may be the pinnacle of Patek Philippe design and manufacturing in the PP Chrono genre. Jeff.

The moon phase can be sent independently, as previously mentioned by the use of the pushers. At least I could do with my 5140. Great photos, but could someone say how they find the legibility of the dial say over the W/G one. The reason for me asking, is ... 

But if you have several pushers, it seems lofgical that you can set indepedantly the date and the moonphase. As for the legibility of this 5970P, this is not the thing whioh would worry me the more. I don't find legibilty to be problematic, not ore than a...

And a tough one! It would be more coherent to get the 5970 over the 5070, yes, I think. But I used to dream about the 5070, while I just re discovered the 5970 when it was launched in 2008 / 2009, in its platinum version. A strong long love versus a revel...

I am so pleased to read all he positive words on this watch. It is a joy. So, firstly, the moonphase is independently set, and simply requires you to know how many days after a Full Moon or a New Moon you are, and you push the setting push piece once for ...

Nicholas Would you consider owning both the ALS dato in platinum/black dial and this 5970p? This question foregoes your owning the 5070. Thanks for your opinion. Joe
