Nothing special about that...
Many years ago we measured my wist in PP Geneva and analysed, what kind of strap fits me best. Every wrist is a bit different and the right length of the strap depends both from the size of the case and from the fact how the spring bars are positioned.
When measuring the strap, it is important to place the folding clasp in such a way that the bend of the clasp is following the shape of the wist. Very often people claim that "the folding clasp of PP is uncomfortable". This is naturally plain rubbish. In reality most probably the shorter part of the strap located @ 6 o'clock is either too short or too long...
I know that for a standard slim about 37 mm watch like 5140, 5110, 5550, etc. the correct length of the strap for me is 85 x 125. For example for my 5960A, the right length (bigger case) of the strap is 83 x 123.
When I'm ordering a watch, I order at the same time normally three bespoken straps. One just like the original and two made of some other colours I find interesting or I simply like. In Patek the bespoken strap does not cost a cent more than the standard one and typically, you get two straps with your watch.
Easy!
I will send you as a separate post some pictures.
Best, Kari
