One never expects to get food poisoning

but when it does strike, it is amazing how helpless it renders one. My worst attack was 20 years ago and a dentist who was doing a rare filling on my teeth 'accidentally' dropped the drill in my mouth cutting the area where my tongue laid. It was a bloodbath and I am not exaggerating. The wound took quite a while to heal and I had gone out for dinner with a friend to a nice place. That night, I could hardly move and it took me 10 minutes to crawl 30 yards to my parents room to beg for help at 2am. I was rushed to the hospital and put on a drip for 3 days. Apparently, the open wound had resulted in bacteria entering and that was it. I had to cancel a planned holiday and obviously never went to that dentist again.
