Patek 5153 pre-owned
Finally, won a watch at auction - Christie NY Online. I've never owned a watch with a cover. Looks cool.
PATEK OFFICERS WATCH, REF. 5153, circa 2014, white gold, 38mm, CALIBER: 324 SC. There's a nice 21k gold rotor, but the watch does not hack?
Fortunately, the dial and movement ware in excellent condition. However, the case (as described by Christies) has scratches along the side of the case.
What wasn't obvious from the photos was the chip at 12 o'clock and bad scar at 2 o'clock.
I'm brought the watch to the AD for a service on the movement and seals. The time/date watch can by serviced by the local AD. Estimated 8 weeks (mid October) and C$900. Any insights from the experienced people? Thanks.
I declined the offer to polish the case ($150). I was told that they could only polish 2 or 3 times before the case got too thin.
For me, the most beautiful feature is the round minute markers. Reflective and translucent. Exquisite.
The opaline dial with a guilloche centre is discrete but worthy of contemplation. Precious. This is what a dress watch should be.
