Quite a conundrum
I don’t like the overly engraved cases that PP (and VC for that matter) use. Not my style. Nor is the size.
However, in this instance I think the rose gold with the engraving, the size of the watch, the amount of complications- all of it adds up and works in this ref.

I'm not the target market either and I definitely understand you feeling.
The photos of the prototype speak to me, though: I find this timepiece quite fascinating and love the undulations pattern on the dial. Best, Emmanuel

PS: The engraved case is absolutely fascinating and I enjoyed contemplating it during each of my visits to the Patek Philippe museum.
If I could afford it, I wouldn't hesitate. But what I appreciate most is wearing my watches as often as possible, every day. And the prototype almost feels like it could be worn every day (even though I know that's just a dream). My Chronometro Gondolo 50...
