Some thoughts ...
It's useful when the owner is adjusting the calendar using the pushers, as it indicates whether it is am or pm.
Useful but not essential.
Asthetically speaking, the watch would be a lot more attractive IMO if it doesn't have the 24-hour indicator. Mr Stern, there is still an opportunity to improve on what is otherwise an already fantastic looking watch!
restyling for 5396?

I wish it be ref. 5125 Wempe style!!!
Taking into account that all dial indicators of 5396 are similar to 5125 ones, it is logical to implement classic "calatrava" style to mentioned model.
