Still stuck on the strap choice
Thanks for the advise on not polishing - I guess I will have to curb my Stainless Steel based urges!??!
The strap is tricky - I agree that the blue strap is meant to pick out the hands but this seems like 'over egging the pudding' to me. I have never seen a picture with another strap colour but there must be people out there who have changed it? I generally like Brown straps and they look great on the Rose Gold versions but White Gold I guess not??? - I guess I will have to just buy another colour and see how I get on but as we all know they are not cheap.
Thanks again - one thing is for sure it is the prettiest dial in my collection - a real design classic.

Just be very, very careful. Actually, for me, I wouldn't want to try my hand at polishing. I'd rather take it back and have it serviced for that. one thing about white gold, and anyone can jump in with corrections, the white gold is rhodium plated. Theref...
My take-
I would not polish the watch myself with anything stronger than microfiber cloth. Your watch is (most likely) plated. Original strap is intended to compliment the hands; hard to find better
