I have had the "pleasure" of listening and responding to that very same question on many occasions! LOL
Your replacement choice imo is an excellent one.

Decided against the 5712 due to the dial being of a similar design to the late "great" PP5085. Needed a change, something to excite me again...which the 5726 has! Cheers
