Dear Friends, at this time of global concerns, which are causing travel restrictions all over the globe and particularly in my beautiful Italy, what can be better than taking all together a two-stop, virtual trip to Rome, thanks to our favorite watch bran...  

Why not enjoy the “Rare Handcrafts” of Patek Philippe ! Great post Fab, with each piece looking special in its own way. I particularly like the “Piazza di Spagna” piece.

And change of dial getting a bit repetitive and I think detracting from the exclusivity...also the celebrations seem a bit weak....they need to decide upfront whether it will be 150/200 years etc....but very soon it will be anything ...I didnt like the re... 

For the Hausmann celebration, personally I think it was a no-brainer: this event combined the 225th anniversary (quite a major event in itself!) with the opening of a Boutique, the second in all of Italy ;-) Cheers.

Has traditionally been celebrated in this way. It’s a good idea.

The few exceptions that come to my mind are the 5230G-012 released for the Boodles 220th anniversary, 5936G-012 for the 5th anniversary of the Patek Philippe boutique in Tiffany & Co and 5205G-011 for the 5th anniversary of Beyer's Patek Philippe boutique... 

If there are any hopefully some one can let us know. I think 5079J-010 (5 pieces) to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Pragnell is very special as they don't normally release minute repeaters to commemorate retailer anniversaries.

moderator is great ! Love the enamel work but wonder why Patek and AD do not want to have a few enamel pieces to be purchased by collectors. I like the Calatrava with the blue dial very much because of the Roman numeral used for twelve o’clock !

These are exceptional pieces my good friend. Quite an exposition you drafted up for us. At a time of an, arguably, pandemic. ART, mechanical or otherwise, helps us remember that there are things in life we enjoy and have PASSION for. You reminded us this ...

Especially the two enamel pieces sing to me. And of the two in particular the one of Castel Sant Angelo. I love the way the perspective of the bridge was included and it captures the place. On the church, a sense of light and color in a lovely warm way. I... 

After the exposition at the Boutique in Roma, the first home to these two references was designated to be the Geneva Museum, where I'm sure they will be available at least for a while for everyone to admire. As for their long-term future, in particular wh... 

Two beautiful watches, really shows off the craft and teleports you to a different place. VC with their metiers d'art I notice doing these pieces more. Would be nice to see more from PP too!

'Rare handcrafts' are indeed an exceptionally beautiful line of Pateks, though they are unfortunately produced in a (very) limited number. Making each of these dials requires a significant amount of time, and Patek only hires a handful of artists to work ... 

Due to COVID-19, I had to cancel my flight to Rome on March 5th. I also have 2 business trips to Milan scheduled in the months of May and June. Unfortunately, I have a strong feeling, those will not take place either. So reading and reminiscing had a spec...

The vision of the archangel was a sign that the plague had ended in Rome. The perspective gives it a 3 dimensional appearance.

The Roman XII is probably not a major shocker, but I think it gives these special editions a very personal touch. I hope the lucky recipients will treasure them for long! Thanks for commenting (just replied to your PM).
