Patek Philippe 5070J, the less favorite among the 4 metal versions?

You know me, I am a white metal guy. So personally, I would hesitate between a white gold or a platinum version. BUT, sometimes, the case / dial combination is really eye catching. This is the case, I think, with the 5070J. The black dial yellow gold case...

I like my “J” but of the three I have the “G” is my favourite. The “P” remains a challenge to hunt.

G is still my favorite, even versus P.

Dear Nico, I think all four metals of 5070 are attractive and would glad to have anyone…….but certainly the heavy white one will be the best ;-)

Thanks for a beautiful post Nico, including the very good 2512 reminder. Not a J lover myself, but I have to admit the yellow case/black dial combo is very attractive (in a similar way that I usually find attractive black dials with rose cases though)...

J version seems to be the least favourite among 5131, 5970 and 5170 series as well.

A classic. 5070G is the most versatile of the four though. Each 5070 has its own strong personality. A legend.

That would be the most original choice, among these 4, indeed.

I have this thing for “less favorite”. In this case, i’d go for the J even if i prefer white metals. Black and gold is a killer combo. Imagine having this one and a daytona JPS :-)

I don't know why the YG black dial is the least favorite of the 4. I think it is stunning and the contrast is the best of the 4, even more so than the P 🤷‍♂️
