The design is quite different than the previous version and the numerals (similar to the 5524) makes the dial more prominent. Since the case is totally different because of the movement, there is not much linkage to the previous one for me. Perhaps the thinking was to offer an alternative "affordable" watch with automatic movement to attract a new target segment and up-sell an existing clientele. A smart move by Patek indeed.
I find it this reference quite interesting and fortunately my wife does not like it. LOL !
