Patek Philippe

I see a lot of modern complications on this forum. I can't think of another forum that has so many great Patek Philippe watches on show literally every day as WatchProsSite. On this forum, the 5131 is almost a community watch!! Yet, a lot of people respon...  

.....between 3417 and 570......it swings from one day to another.....but more often than not to 3417.

preferably with Breguet numerals but prices have gone through the roof unfortunately :-(

even though both the 565 and 570 were in 35mm and produced from the late 30s, the 565 was produced predominantly in stainless steel while the 570 in gold. Give me a vintage Patek in steel anytime over a gold one. I have a 1530A and and have made it my dai...  

Unfortunately, beauty has a price!

at least it looks exactly the same way. Sadly it is for movement repair for 40 weeks at Patek. Her is the last picture arpund christmas before something broke inside 😞. Best regards, Lars ...  

May I ask did you drop it or did something break due to wear and tear? 40 weeks seems about right. I am sure all will be fine when you get it back.

I overwinded it. There was no stop point anymore while winding in the morning. Normally after 13 halfturns it was fully powered and you could feel that. Suddenly there was a little noise and no force anymore showing that it is fully powered ... The repair... 

I cannot imagine how you must have felt when that happened. I own a 1943 1530A so I will be careful when winding it too since I doubt there is a stop mechanism. Which currency is the 1200 in?!

how do you know when to stop winding? just by feeling that you need to give „ more strength“ in winding? For me that is quite difficult with some old watches, because some need powerful fingers 💪

I tend to wind my watch daily at approximately the same time and from experience I know it takes between 28 and 31 turns depending on the way I turn the watch. Based on your experience, I will now know that I should stop winding at 28 turns. I have never ...

It is quite worth mentioning how admirable Patek is with so many distinct lines of watches. Each has its own character but all embody Patek DNA. We go from perpetual calendar chronographs to minute repeaters to nautilus to aquanaut to world timers to chro... 

.....yes, I appreciate complications as much as any...and love them. Yet, for me, the simpel time only nature of the vintage Calatrava catches something quite different. HAGWE

I happen to be looking for a Calatrava this week. It will be my first Patek. I prefer simple to complex, and I'm delighted to see that the beautiful Calatrava goes directly to the brand's DNA. For me, bottom left! --Greg
