Dear all, Next to the recap article of the whole Baselworld 2017 collection I posted (here, ), I wished to put forward, in different threads, a few important novelties that Patek Philippe has released. Let me start first by what I find to be an unexpecte...  

I did try the watch on and although it is 40mm, it was not too large for my small wrist. However, unlike the large fan base this watch has developed, it is not my favourite Patek perpetual calendar. It ispriced very well and is great value for money thoug... 

It is new and it has different elements from what we are used to seeing from the brand, thus it naturally won't appeal to all the Patek fans, at least at the beginning and before they see it. Thank you for the feedback on the size. Best, Mark

for an insightful and enlightening review of the 5320. I would imagine that if/when this watch comes out in yellow gold the vintage feel will be even greater. The apertures for day / night and leap year seem relatively smaller in comparison to 5270/5204, ... 

Whether it is J or R, or just a dial color change, I think the watch will look very different. I'm really looking forward to see what will be its place in the long run. A very interesting moment Thank you for you nice comments H. Best, Mark

There is much to like in this new reference. Personally my impression is a slight sense of disappointment in Patek going down the retro route. It seems many manufacturers are hoping the vintage hype can be capitalized on by recreating modern iterations of... 

I want my watch to get a patina not to buy it like this. Definitely the problem maybe the hands and the dial color.

We often have discussions about how aesthetical issues can be perceived, considering that each of us might have a different background (cultural, how long we've been interested in watchmaking, our wearing habits etc...). That's essential to understand how...

Please see ref 1591, Christie's auction November 12, 2007. Only two were made. The stainless steel, unique, went for $2,513,000. Very rare indeed. The other one known has gold case. Would probably bring a lot more today. I do not have the pic to post, per... 

More precisely, I think that the minute ring and date display is not like the 1591 but more like the 2497 for instance (open and not circled). The hands have indeed been used in the 1591 you're refering to (1944) but also in the 1463 (1940 to at least 196... 

The sapphire is a surprise. The case as well, as I didn't see that shape on the pictures, before. Both details please me. And I agree when you say that the sapphire glass makes yo think about a vintage one. Do you have some pictures of the case back? Very... 

The Sapphire is indeed a nice way to gain 1 or 2 mm on the case, in addition to the spirit it brings to the watch. I haven't got a caseback picture but I'll share one if I can see it next month. Thanks a lot for your very nice words, I'm glad you enjoyed ... 

Patek has now three versions of a "base" perpetual. Interesting to see if this model will develop into a full range of four metals. Best, Kari

Indeed, the fact this model displays the information in windows compared to subsidiary dials lightens the dial and makes it more legible too. It is nice to see that they bring that dial layout back in the collection. Thank you for your input and kind comm... 

Great article!!! Other than that: my grandmother called, she wants her alarm clock back. I dont like this watch, as I did not like the pilot one.

The multiple images of the 5320G combined with images of prior related Pateks, chart and videos bring this watch to life in a vivid, contextual way. For me this is potentially the best Basel offering and could be a game changer for Patek in arousing inter...

I think this is an absolute gem of a release by Patek. The white gold case augments this timepiece\'s majesty. Perfection.

that is shown in the welcome it received. It has new elements from the ones we have been used to seeing for 2 decades now but it is opening a new trend that will evolve, maturate thanks to its great assets. Thank you for your feedback and nice compliments... 

This reference is indeed an evolution and in my opinion, a fresh approach... although this may not float everyone's boat, the 'younger' and 'young at heart' PP fans would probably love this iteration [I'm guessing]. The dial seems esthetically 'lighter' t... 

I think that it will indeed appeal to many of the current Patek owners and newer generations not yet owning one and it will in the mean time not please, at least in the first period, a part of the current Patek fans that are attracted by the previous gene... 

One of the highlights of Basel this year. I really like the case and lugs too - I would love to see this case being used for a manual chrono.

The case is very interesting indeed. I think that they will prefer having a distinct case for the chronograph though. I think the watch can combine very nicely with a black strap too. Who knows Thanks Russ. Best, Mark

I love the look of the 5320G, and have not been so enthusiastic about a modern Patek in a long while. I think this watch is going to "scratch the itch" for many people who would love to own a vintage perpetual calendar. I am on the list and can't wait to ...

I have not been able to gauge the popularity of the watch from the posts here and elsewhere. I like it and most likely will get one at some point. Bob

the way the steps are made, in a smooth way, I like them a lot. The case side is also very interesting and wasn't available in the recent collections. Sometimes, it is about a single very attractive detail... that's what I like a lot in Patek watches. Bes... 

Patek are overproducing everything even the 6002 is being overproduced, the brand is no longer what it used to be give the 5320G couple of years and u'll see, another 5040, 5159, 5140 ... so many perpetual calendar references and each one produced in thou... 

but the demand has also increased very much during the last 20 years. So, which has grown faster, for which reference etc... I think that nobody outside from Patek headquarters know. Maybe you have a reliable insider source? Otherwise, I think it is only ... 

I am very intrigued by what you shared with us regarding your algorithm concerning Patek Philippe production numbers. Now that we have some 24 months of distance between us and the initial release of the model 5320G, what do you think? How many of those w...

This thread got me started to seek out the 5320G. Watch finally came today... with gray/blue strap. Thanks for the great review and everyone for chiming in; helped in my decision making. Love this rendition of the Perpetual Calendar! ...  

Thanks so much for the review. I am not a big Perpetual calendar fan but I really do like this watch. I love the hands, dial symmetry, and the shape of the bezel. Very attractive piece.
