Tool watch
While it's hard to call any Patek a tool watch the Aquanaut probably comes closest. It also seems that the Nautilus has become more sophisticated with its complications so maybe this is a way of rebalancing the twin lines. I can't see Patek putting this complication into the Nautilus unless it's in a precious metal case and on a strap. Even then I can't see the point of having the same complication in a watch case design which is very similar. It would smack of "badge engineering".

Is that there are already 2 complicated Nautilii, there's the 5712 with moonphase and RdM and the 5980 chronograph. To my knowledge there were no complications in the Aquanaut line, so it made sense to add one there. A

First reason was given by Aaron. Second reason (for me) was to create a real summer travel watch: the Aquanaut is a more all-around watch than the Nautilus and the second timezone complication can be useful during a summer trip. Fx...
