Totally agree with your view that these are not sports watches. I think of them as “sporty chic”. When I think of sports watch I think Sub, GMT, Daytona, etc

I actually have viewed the 5740 and had it on my wrist. It is an extremely special watch. That said, all things considered, for me I prefer having 5726.

The nautilus looks most attractive with only 2 hands on the main pinion.. But in this case, 5726 comes out on top - I prefer the blue and nautilus should be in steel

For me the layout of the dial with month and day windows at 12 and sweep seconds harks all the way back to the 2497. That said, for me they are both clearly creatures of the modern era in both design and function. Best, Patekova
