Update on 3970
An update: After getting thru the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, I stopped by the Patek Service Center (Henri Stern) in NY yesterday. They were very helpful (as always). They fully checked out the watch. In their opinion the watch is fine and the recent service they performed is fine. The second hand jumping issue occurs only when the chrono pusher is pressed slowly or with a half-press hesitation. If pressed swiftly and firmly there is no problem. So it must have been how I was pushing the button. They assured me this is normal and offered to happily look at it again if it issue presents itself again.
3970 chronograph issue

Friends -- my 3970G black dial is recently back from Henri Stern NY after a full service. I have noticed that when I now start the chrono, ~80% of the time it works just fine but ~20% of the time it is quirky -- specifically, the chrono seconds hand jumps...
odd coincidence...

I had the EXACT same issue with a Zenith Daytona that I purchased. The issue started as soon as I took the watch out of the box. I thought there was something wrong and returned the watch. interested in reading experiences from others here.

Thanks, everyone. I will head over to HSNY on Monday afternoon (with my service receipt) and have them take a look and hopefully make any adjustments. Will update on what transpires.
