It is for me an almost impossible query… there are so many amazing references that I will try to list in no particular order the modern refs I would consider my favorite and if I had any of them in my collection as h only Patek it would be a tremendous privilege:
5950A
5951P black dial
5004P black stick dial
This is assuming regular production iterations only (otherwise 5004A would be a dream but it is not regular production)…

Yes, I also think it is perfect. So, I certainly understand the appeal of 5070P. MANY times I have thought 5070P and 5970P would make a spectacular pairing and have been tempted
to try to make that happen, but in the end I realized that I have a much stronger personal preference for 5970. So much so that I prefer a pair of 5970s, even though perhaps that might seem shortsighted.
As the forum moderator I’m fighting hard not to express a (non-Boccadasse, in-catalog) preference here, but….I’ll be following with LOTS of interest this very thought-provoking thread!😄🙏😉 Cheers.

To me the combo of the enamel dial (I prefer the white face, but wouldn't turn down the other), minute repeater, and the 38mm case is perfection. My personal grail watch.

Couldn’t agree more with all your points about the G, particularly your comment about versatility. With the G the strap options are endless.
Dress it up, dress it down. Blue, silver, green, black, brown ... anything goes. With the P, for me, the options are pretty limited. So I am a huge fan of the G.
