Patek Philippe

Gentlemen, In 1995, Patek Philippe unveiled a new reference, the 5004 . It was a very complicated piece with Split-second chronograph and Perpetual calendar functions based on the Nouvelle Lemania caliber. This caliber CHR 27-70 Q (30 x 8.86mm) was equipp...  

and I also like the new 5204 black dial version. But in the end, the 3/9 registers really balances the watch for me. I don't care as much for the lowered registers. Just a personal preference. Best Joe

That's quite a figure, I wonder how they'll do with this year's piece? This 5004 was in Ti and had a very specific dial. The Onlywatch 2015 is a Triple complication but more classical in its outfit (except it is made of Steel). Thanks Gordon! Cheers, Mark...

I was surpised to see that the 5204 and 5370 are not that far away from one another in terms of price. It would be a much tougher choice than I thought. Thank you Kari :) Cheers, Mark

Something around 40k away. It's the price of a car... Anyhow, for me this is not so difficult: First of all, the dial of 5370 is in my eyes superior. Secondly, the perpetual module adds the price with 40k - that's pretty hefty. Thirdly, the case of 5370 i... 

when I look at the normal Perpetual Calendar (let's say 5139 or 5940) and a normal chronograph from the brand (5170), I noticed we come roughly to a Chrono Perpetual Calendar reference (5270) tag. Hence when I see the difference of 5370 versus 5204, it is... 

It's quite an achievement. Yes, both would be an ideal solution. I will order the other in a bit over two weeks and if the business looks in a year as good as it looks now, I will order the other one. But luckily I can also survive by getting only one mor...

I heard the same thing. I believe it was on the earlier ones released but not 100% certain.

At the beginning the "hamburger" shape was really not my thing. But the more I saw the 3970 for instance or this 5004 in pictures I feel the charm indeed. Concerning the reliability, I don't know, but I heard about there was a possible "update" during ser... 

Ti must have been much lighter :)

I particularly like the steel version. Being a chrono it is also a watch with a function that is also sporty , hence the steel version fits or suits the watch nicely. My opinion. Thanks for highlighting this patek mark. Cheers Geross

Yes, I think that Patek has quite well managed to travel through the different eras of watchmaking. This 5004 is a very interesting reference. Cheers, Mark
