Patek Philippe

HI there, Here's family heirloom that I'm struggling to identify. It's a Patek Phillipe with a bright blue face, oblong case and metal bracelet. It is automatic, with the dial on the back of the watch, rather than the side at 3 o'clock like most watches. ...

3586-1, but better you try a search for "cal. 350" and "Patek" through the well kown auction houses databases. As you describe it, it should be equipped with this movement - and, btw, the bracelet and watch should be rather white gold than stainless steel... 

Thanks for your help, that's exactly the watch, and I'm even happier to learn it is white gold and not stainless steel!

Why are you happier with white gold than with stainless steel? Obviously you do not know that most of the vintage SS Pateks are much rarer and worth much more than any gold models of the same reference - except the recent SS pieces which are mostly built ... 

Happy for a couple of reasons: 1. It cleared up a lot of confusion as I was busy trying to hunt down stainless steel models when I should have been hunting down white gold 2. Happy also because I have a personal preference for white gold I doubt that this... 

I have used the term "vintage" a bit to widely... I wanted to understand it opposed to recent offered SS watches which are so much "en vogue " at the time. regards erich
