It was an open show in any medium. It won the grand prize and really gave me a confidence boost. ...  

Kind of reminds me a bit of Lee Friedlanders type of work.

Something about it I cannot explain in words.

The colours stick out in my mind... Photo 'contests' are always a mixed bag... mostly promoting some known or hidden agenda and so much depends on the selection of judges... Great that you photo was selected, better still that it's a wonderful image ;-) C... 

It was an open annual juried show at a museum. There were no categories so painting sculpture print making photography mixed media were all mixed together. All entire were physically represented at the museum
