Piaget

Men’s jewelled watches …

This question may deserve a thread of its own, but I am not sure how to ask it and it applies more broadly than Piaget pieces of course.

I can completely relate to bejewelled ladies watches. They look great and really catch the eye. But men’s watches are a different thing. Shopping in Asia I see these pieces frequently in boutiques, but much less so in Australia. I really can’t imagine attending a party where I stood out because I was the only one without a diamond or ten covering my watch.

Now I know we don’t choose our watches to conform (as Cen reminds us frequently) but am I not attending the right parties or mixing in the right circles? Are there cultural differences in ‘acceptability’ of these types of watches? When I get tired of vintage Omega’s am I going to hanker for a sparkly Piaget or Chopard? Are the occasions when one wears these watches quite specific?

These bejewelled Piaget pieces do look amazing in Boutiques and perhaps another function is to catch the eye of the passing shopper. There were certainly a few concerned faces on male partners of ladies trying on various pieces in your photos. LOL.

Thanks for taking us along on the evening which looked fabulous.

Regards

Andrew
