RM051-02 Tourbillon Diamond Twister
The second of the complex women’s watches offered this year was simply stunning! In line with some of the complicated women’s watches of the past from Richard: for example the RM019-01, this time, the lattice work dial is covered in a total of 270 diamonds. The movement can be seen through the lattice work if you peer close enough, and the hands to the see the time are just visible above it. The base plate as before is onyx. Onyx is not an easy material to cut a baseplate from. However, this is an externality from Richard’s work using carbon nanofibre. As difficult as it is to believe, CNC milling carbon nanofibre and onyx are fairly similar. The difficultly arises in both setting rubies for the pinions, as well as controlling the milled surface for dust. However, the result with onyx is a luscious black surface that allows the diamonds to shine that much more brightly.
In total, on just the lattice work alone, there are 270 diamonds. Move the watch into different light and there is always some part of the diamond pattern that catches and reflects the light. It radiates on the wrist.

The RM011 and the bracelet are sold together. You cannot buy
the bracelet separately. The reason is that Richard is concerned about aesthetics. The finish on the watch is designed to exactly match the finish on the bracelet and hence be a unified whole. Much like the design aesthetic for the Starck. Watch and brace...

The look of the bracelet certainly matches the case.
This is obvious, of course, but it is hard to imagine it working otherwise. I have not had much exposure to RM in general, but find this bracelet piece quite compelling.

Agreed - there is definitely a move to increase the number of
