I was looking for a 5146, 5205, 5296 and 5396 in Zurich, Interlaken and Prague, the places I have been traveling lately. As they had none of these in the shop, I was also wondering what they need the boutiques for... I wish they could at least produce dummy watches so people would get a feeling how these watches fit.

It's not about telling the boutique where you are staying, it's about letting the concierge - who has the reputation and connections in the city - set you up for success. A great concierge is essential for any top 5 Star hotel in assisting their clientele...

I honestly don’t care whether it is a salon or an AD, especially since Patek has only three salons - and these are in Geneva, Paris and London only.
