In this case it was a friend asking. He handed the watch to me and went on his way. At least he didn't ask how much it was worth.
Now I'm no Bill or Jocke so I can't glance at one of these babies and instantly decipher it. The reference number is 16610 and the serial number starts F488 _ _ _.
BTW - I WAS KIDDING about the shirt wiping bit.
Dirt commensurate with being worn by an old guy who is now at rest. His other watch was a Seiko which I also have here for a little spa treatment.
The bracelet is now in my ultrasound machine getting a good cleaning.
Interesting clasp.
Two days wearing and the 3135 is running 5 seconds fast. I sniffed the air escaping out of the case and I smelled a hint of Alpine Meadow mixed with machine oil.
Rolex experts - what do you say? Should I keep it for a few months just to confirm its good running performance? I have to do some work on the Seiko either way ...
