There is some history with Doxa and HEV development.
Apparently in 1967 Doxa co developed the HEV with Rolex. They worked side in the waters off Geneva. Rolex was the one who put in the application for a patent hence the pat pend. Doxa commercialized the Conquistador 300T with the HEV late 1968 early 1969. ...
