Purchase 226570 in June 2024
Just got this in the beginning of June. Was a little intimidated by the 42mm size but now realize that it was only a negative thought that prevented me from going ahead. After 2 months, all I can say is that I love it! The lume is fantastic as I tried it out in a pitch black performance art space and was so impressed by the brightness that people were complaining about my watch😂. Accuracy has been phenomenal and I am very happy that the bezel is stationary. It really does evoke the original 1655, but a 70hr power reserve, the anti magnetic features skimmer lugs and the new bracelet are all INCREDIBLE ( I have the black dial) also love the clasp and the cyclops date
Tried the Explorer II...amazing.
I think this may be the next watch for me. I love it a lot. This is the 226570 and I don't feel terribly threatened by the size even if it's at the limit. If you have experience with the Exp. II, I'd love to hear about it. ...

I was in the same boat as you when I sold off my Day-Date. I've come to rather regret that decision, even if there are still good reasons why it wouldn't have worked out so well had I kept it.
I had that impression with the Milgauss - loved the look but it seemed SO heavy
I loved the look of this one, and the green glass version tried on strap (to match the Fiat) but couldn't quite get happy I bought a Turn-A-Graph instead but it wasn't the watch for me in the long run, and it went away Cazalea ...

It made me wonder whether I might prefer the 216570, since it's 21mm between the lugs rather than 22.
I overlooked it for years due to its simplicity.
But once I tried it on, it was love! Comfortable, solid, charming, unique… Never part with mine. ...

My central gripe is bracelet and clasp quality; I'm big on the new milled and very solid clasps along with solid links throughout (I understand a feature since 2000). I just don't love the looks or feeling of those older variants (tried a Sub from 1980) b...

I prefer the bold look of the 6-digit Explorer II but prefer the light easy comfy feel of the 5-digit.

There are a lot of black dial sports Rolex. Less so white dials.
I think the 42mm Explorer 11 is prefect, in Black or Polar.

I do that sometimes. I take watches I'm not wearing and just set up little photo shoots in the house to see if I can get a nice shot/lighting.
