Rolex

I think this may be the next watch for me. I love it a lot. This is the 226570 and I don't feel terribly threatened by the size even if it's at the limit. If you have experience with the Exp. II, I'd love to hear about it. ...  

I have had my Exp 2 Polar for twenty three years and still loved it. Absolutely a terrific timepiece.

I do love an evergreen piece like that.

I had the same feeling with this watch and bought a Polar dial version... but then found myself thinking it seemed a bit bulky on the bracelet, so I shrunk it down a bit by wearing it on straps... but then found it slightly sharp-edged and uncomfortable t...  

I was in the same boat as you when I sold off my Day-Date. I've come to rather regret that decision, even if there are still good reasons why it wouldn't have worked out so well had I kept it.

I loved the look of this one, and the green glass version tried on strap (to match the Fiat) but couldn't quite get happy I bought a Turn-A-Graph instead but it wasn't the watch for me in the long run, and it went away Cazalea ...  

The case is big, but what took me off guard was the wider bracelet. Nice looking kit, however.

It made me wonder whether I might prefer the 216570, since it's 21mm between the lugs rather than 22.

Chose mine rather than a GMT Master, never looked back. Good luck!

Also rather glad to hear that. I do think it's quite a charming and different model in the Rolex lineup. Reminds me of the Milgauss in that way...just plain neat.

My central gripe is bracelet and clasp quality; I'm big on the new milled and very solid clasps along with solid links throughout (I understand a feature since 2000). I just don't love the looks or feeling of those older variants (tried a Sub from 1980) b... 

I prefer the bold look of the 6-digit Explorer II but prefer the light easy comfy feel of the 5-digit.

It’s actually my significant other’s watch, she’s had it for a long time. For me, I find it a little too big, too bulky. On her it looks OK actually as it’s clearly oversized (versus on me where it just looks too big, if that makes sense). ...  

There are a lot of black dial sports Rolex. Less so white dials.

I was drawn to the Polar dial and I think it looks fabulous with other straps. Rubber B makes a nice strap ...  

This black dial version also looks great on you. Personally I think as long as the lugs are not hanging over the edges of the wrist then it’s fine, and it’s just a matter of getting used to the size. And 42mm is not that big. It’s the same size as the Spe... 

I have a preference for black dials. My only white dial is my Nomos Club, which I am a fan of, but particularly because of the total design package. The black really works for me and also has the polished markers/hands. For some reason, the matte ones jus...

I do that sometimes. I take watches I'm not wearing and just set up little photo shoots in the house to see if I can get a nice shot/lighting.
