for usually unfounded reasons. I appreciate the welcome! I tried on the white Milgauss yesterday. I think it needs a few more visits before actual "serious" consideration. I do agree that the GV(?) is the one to get but I am currently partial to white dialled pieces. Black is always easier to get and the iconic sub is always there if I'm in the mood to go for a new black : )
One thing I like about Rolexes is the reassurance that I have something that's going to keep great time whenever I strap it on. It never ceases to amaze me how someting that I don't wear for months can just carry on like that without skipping a heart beat. People think it's a useless toy but I'm not sure that they understand the reassurance that it gives when things start to fall apart around you... that, yes, some things still DO work, and like a faithful dog, will be there oysterlocked to your wrist, keeping you company, even when the neighbors think you're full of crap :p On a very hectic day, I glance at my Rolex and find a moment of solitude in it almost like how one is able to escape for a bit when drinking coffee : )
As an aside, this is also one of the reasons why Grand Seikos have been rearing its ugly head as well. I saw one in HongKong 3 years ago from a window display and you just knew... you just knew... but, man, I was too scared to ask at that time... It was a few hairsprings away from a Breguet La Tradition and I was thinking of the halo effect of the Breguet on the price of the Seiko. Hahaha!!!
Anyway, the Milgauss white is something to "understand" and take my mind off the long wait for my Reverso Duo.
Thanks, everyone!
