... rate between Pesos and US dolars back then.
As you may well know, our peso to dollar relation has been changing drastically and with many up and downs, through the many economic failures of my Country in the last say 40 years.
Anyway, the Argentine local Rolex Official Service is among the best, in facilities, equipment and watchmakers, and its prices are always lower than other Countries, in US$ at any rate.
As an example, a complete service of my 1680 Sub, made in 2009, which included cleaning, oiling, plus change of all seals, crown, and plexi (I asked not to polish) and adjustment, cost a bit less than us$ 200,00. Waiting time was rather long for me: almost two and a half months.
I feel what best can amaze us regarding prices, is to view that a Daytona or a Sub price was about the same, around us$ 200,00 back in the mid 1960´s, at least here in my Country, and that those Daytonas were very low sellers!
Again, your watch looks terrific, and having all original papers and stuff add to ist value and enjoyment.
Thanks for sharing with us!
Best cordial regards, Abel.
