Great post and nice watch. I sure do like the old stuff, but I think the latest Explorer is a fine watch too. On this latest model the second hand is independant so it is GMT watch and a very complete tool watch IMO. Isn't it IWC who is claiming that Sir Edmund Hilary was wearing a Ingenieur on his climb? Well he did climb it several times now didn't he. You mention that this isn't a popular watch but still prices for vintage Explorer II are very steep as far as I know.
