Seiko

It may not be the most flamboyant, or the most well known but it has been my first Grand Seiko - namely a relatively bog standard quartz SBGX097. Still, it came with the impressive 9F movement and was equipped with a lovely green dial - another first for ...  

I really enjoy the chameleon nature of GS dials - they keep you checking back to see what look they'll reveal next. Noticing the time is often an incidental side benefit ... My collection really needs a green or blue dial, don't you think? Cazalea My favo...  

The green is elusive when you try to make pictures - often the dial looks completely black. But what an intense, deep green it is I certainly applaud Seiko for adding more coloured dials and would like to add a blue at some point, too The green I can cert... 

The sporty GMT The 12-cornered bezel with glossy black dial (right?) Wrong! Take of the bezel and crystal, and the dial is actually extremely textured. But visible only in certain angles. This one of course, with the gradient dial from light to dark going...  

Especially curious about the Quartz Astron - a tribute to the first Quartz watch from Seiko (also an Astron IIRC). Seen one offered for sale recently but not fast enough... What has your experience with it been? Also a 9F movement or something else? So qu... 

I went up to LA a few years ago on Feb 29 for PuristS perpetual change day, and walked into the Seiko dealer, where I saw it in the case. It was a rare occasion where I broke into a sweat and bought it on the spot - much to the amusement of Scott (the own...  

Titanium, right? If there is to be more Quartz, it\'s most likely going to be something from Seiko

Some of your dials are just excellent! Seiko's design and understanding of horology really shows through on the Grand Seiko models. I often tell people if they want a great watch at a very affordable price, Grand Seiko! Thanks for all the pix! Really enjo...

Subsequently got myself a SBGH035 fast beat automatic, with a \'Special\', more precise movement. Another excellent watch IMHO The finishing is exquisite and you never tire of looking at it, and always find new things to admire! Can only recommend Grand S... 

but by Quality. The new 2016 collection looks fantastic. This green dial is really elusive and difficult to capture. Any movement shots on this one? Rgds Raymond

So sadly no movement shots. The back simply has the GS lion. I\'ll look for a picture tomorrow Do not have a Spring Drive yet but both the Quartz and High Beat automatic watches are fantastic. If one equates Seiko with relatively cheap watches for the mas...

I couldn't tell if the dial was green and was wondering if you were talking about another piece, not the one in the photo. LOL Even though I've put Grand Seikos on the side for other brands, I've always loved them. My one and only that I had, the GMT SBGM... 

You bring out a great connection - feel GS and Lexus go really well together! We\'ve had 4 Lexii as a family so far and they were the most reliable, relaxing, unassuming, comfortable, an for the GSs also very fun to drive cars. And about equally rare in E... 

I got a great discount through my son in picking up a Lexus. My brother works for Infiniti but he could not match anything Lexus was offering. And for my GMT, I'm glad it is still (hopefully will always be) in the family. I picked it up from Japan several... 

If they decide to do a model looking like the Baselworld 8 day one but priced for us mere mortals (power reserve in the back) that\'ll have me in line straight away

The SBGH035 remains my favorite GS but the SBGX097 will always be the first And it is such a useful, understated watch - perfect when trying not to arouse attention! You should give the brand a try at some point - an experiment well worth attempting

GS and Seiko included but to be honest lower on my wish list for now

With so many appealing pieces, hard to draw the line...
