Congratulations on this "Watch Revival"

You are a lucky guy!

Now speaking as the reviver, getting a small mechanical object functioning again gives a great satisfaction to do-it-yourselfers, in any realm but watches are especially fun, for me.

I had the same experience when I worked in a bicycle shop and someone would come in and say,

"This is my old bike from grade school, it was in the hedge (or behind the garage) and I would like to ride it again. Even if it makes no sense economically (within reason)."

Most often these are requests from old guys wanting to give their watch to a son or grandson; other times the previous owner has died and the heirs want it revived, not to sell but to wear.

The first one I revived belonged to my uncle who wanted running again, just for himself. Look at the grime it had accumulated!

The list goes on quite a long ways -- all lucky people who have a small piece of history ticking away on their wrist.
